The Supersport range of forged pistons is developed for slightly to highly modified engines intended mainly for road purposes, but also for racing purposes, where the emphasis is mainly on high mileage. The pistons are designed by ZRP engineers and made in Germany from "high-silicon" alloy 4032 (T6), which is characterized by low dilation and allows achieving better defined tolerances, which results in better sealing. This property helps to eliminate the so-called piston slap, which mainly manifests itself during a cold start. The pistons for turbo engines use the so-called "Round Style Skirt" individual piston design, and for atmospheric engines the so-called "X-Style Skirt" with enlarged and deeper recesses for the valves, which allow the use of even extreme camshaft profiles. Offset pins ensure smooth and quiet operation. The piston pins are made of alloy 9310. Other benefits include anti-knock grooves to protect the first piston rings, a groove for accumulating gas pressure for better ring sealing and to eliminate vibrations. The piston rings are premium Japanese quality - 1.00mm x 1.20mm x 2.80mm.
